TRANSFER KINGSTON UPON THAMES
Situated north of Gatwick airport, about 24 miles away, and a 35-minute taxi ride through the M23 and M25, the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames is a southwest London area with a population of 160,400 as recorded in 2011.
It holds the distinction of being the oldest among the four Royal boroughs in England, with its roots dating back to the Roman era, with numerous artifacts discovered in the region. It was the location for the coronations of seven Anglo-Saxon Kings, and the coronation stone is believed to be the exact spot where these ceremonies occurred, located just outside the Guildhall, the local council offices. Following the Norman invasion in 1066, Kingston Upon Thames saw a decline in its significance, and coronations ceased to be held there. However, by the 12th century, the town began to thrive once more, becoming a bustling center. It was primarily an agricultural community, raising sheep for their wool and fishing for salmon in the Thames.
The borough is made up of several main areas, including Alexandra, Berrylands, Chessington, Coombe, Hook, Kingston upon Thames, Kingston Vale, Malden Rushett, Motspur Park, New Malden, Norbiton, Old Malden, Seeting Wells, Surbiton, and Tolworth. It boasts a wide array of parks, sports facilities, and green spaces, such as Hogsmill Valley Walk, Beverley Park, the University of London Athletic Ground, and Motspur Park.
